Refund Policy

The short version: you are not charged for a search that did not happen.

Draft — not legal advice, not yet reviewed. The structure and the operationally-specific clauses below are drawn from how the service actually works. The wording has not been settled by a lawyer and must be before launch. Decisions still open are flagged inline like [DECISION].

We refund in full

  • Your plate could not be matched to a vehicle. No PPSR search is run, so there is nothing to charge for one. You may instead try another state on the same payment, or switch to a VIN search, in which case we refund the difference.
  • The search could not be performed because the register was unavailable and did not return within a reasonable period.
  • You were charged more than once for the same search.
  • The report was never delivered and we cannot deliver it.

We do not normally refund

  • A completed search with a result you did not like. A clear result is a result. The search was performed and the certificate issued, and the register charges us either way.
  • A search against the wrong vehicle, where you supplied the VIN. We search the identifier you give us. Where you searched by plate, you confirm the vehicle before the search runs — which is precisely why that step exists.
[DECISION] — the position on a valid VIN that returns no PPSR data at all. The search is billed to us by AFSA whether or not it returns records, so a refund is a real cost. Settle this before launch; it is the most likely dispute.

Not a refund, but free

  • Resending your report, including to a corrected email address.
  • The 14-day re-check, where your search found a registered security interest.

How to ask

Use the form on our Support page or email our contact form with your transaction ID. Refunds go back to the card used, and typically take 3–5 business days to appear.
